Bob Eiland, President/Founder

Bob founded Eiland Global Search (EGS) in 1987, after 7 years of working as an independent contingency recruiter. At EGS, he built an industry-acclaimed team specializing in mission-critical retainer-based searches for high tech companies. He has helped to build executive teams, and brought in world-class senior technical talent, at Microsoft, Lotus/IBM, BBN/GTE, Copyright Clearance Center, Frictionless/SAP, 3COM, Tektronix, Banyan, Bladelogic, Software.com and a host of other high tech companies, from early stage to large.

Bob's earlier background was in social work and running community programs. He set up and directed an innovative community-based human services program for the Town of Weston, MA. Author of the career guidebook Rhyme and Reason, Bob has created and run hiring / job-search workshops that have proven popular at corporations as well as institutions including Harvard University. He donates time to a variety of charitable causes, and is the founder of the Gazebo Players, a theater group that has been performing annual Shakespeare in the Park productions for over 10 years. A published playwright, Bob's Bachelor's degree is in English from Tufts University.
